The clear sparkling waters of this river flowing down from the Smokey Mountains accentuated by the rich fall colors of the trees along the river's banks cast a sight for the eyes. This image was captured on film in The Cherokee National Forest near the North Carolina and Tennessee borders.
My introduction to photography began in the mid-50’s as a teenager employed to assist Joe Mason, a disabled Korean War Veteran, being trained by the Veterans Administration in the Art of Photography. I was hired primarily to assist Mr. Mason in the darkroom and to maintain an orderly appearance in his studio. Mr. Mason allowed me to be present for the majority of his training classes and this afforded me an opportunity to learn all aspects of the business. Growing up in the beautiful Tidewater area of Southeastern Virginia gave me a profound love of nature’s awesome beauty.
